Is there any official evidence of actual Chinese hd dvd players that are heading to the U.S.?

I have seen people quoting the AP release elswhere...but where is the official announcement if there even is one?

There will be no word till Wal-Mart's black friday ad hits

Have the popcorn ready when the HDers over at AVS realize that if only they could read chinese, they would have seen the "Blue Light" characters, and if only they had done their research, they would know the firms in question call all HDTV compatible players (including upconverts) "HD-DVD"

I believe Blu-ray is now cheaper to make than HD DVD. And so, whatever people think the Chinese will do for HD DVD, they could put out something cheaper for Blu-ray.

Toshiba has killed any ability for Wal-mart/Chinese to bring out a significant product this year. Why would people buy some unknown for a few bucks less than a Toshiba A3?

But, Blu-ray still has lots of room. A sub-$300 Blu-ray player is possible.

Incidently, this was the latest insider word on Chinese players for Blu-ray:

But I digress...

From what I see, BD stand-alone player sales rate will surpass HD DVD stand-alone player sales rate later this year, even at the higher BD player prices. So Chinese BD players and several additional non-Chinese BD player manufacturers are just icing on the cake.
So, perhaps that is a good indication of what will be happening later in the year for Blu-ray.

And notice he nailed the prediction on the Blu-ray standalone players surpassing HD DVD despite the price differences (and shortages).

Black Friday is the day after US Thanksgiving. It used to be the biggest shopping day of the year in the USA (it's Boxing Day in Canada).

It's a big deal, where the big box retailers try to out compete each other for huge deals to draw the customers in.

I agree and have seen what looked like more official info on Funai and Gowell BD players but the hd dvd zealots are touting the latest AP re-hash of the Chinese hd dvd story, and I was looking for proof that Chinese hd dvd players are based on rumours and/or the inability to read Chinese.

Saying its not going to happen is like fanning the fires without proof, and I was looking to extinguish them
