Where was Heath Ledger? - Blu-ray Forum

during the memorial segment? I figured he would show up last during the montage after Paul Newman, but no Heath? What gives?

I don't really watch the Oscars but, I have a question. If he died after last years oscars how could he have been in last years memorium?

because he died before the oscars. roy schnieder did too, but they had already finished the memorium video which is why he was in this one.

I know!!! I was like "what the hell??" I also thought that he was gonna come up after Paul Newman. I think it was kinda disrespectful.... IMO.

Ledger died in January . . . the Oscars are in February. He was in last years'.

Brad Renfro wasn't mentioned last year or this year.

Honestly, I think he was in last years video.

Also, if they had put him in this one and put him AFTER Paul Newman I would have been pretty pissed.

Same here. I know Ledger was young, and his death tragic, but Paul Newman did much more for films than Ledger. No disrespect for Ledger intended here, but Newman was an icon in Hollywood.

And to all people who are STILL wondering why Ledger wasn't in the memorial Montage this year, he was last in Last Year's....

Ledger died on January 22, 2008, the same day Oscar nominations were announced. The Oscars were held on February 25, 2008. Ledger was in the tribute for that year. No matter what we think of is performance he can only be in one tribute. There are other people who loved the other actors/actresses just as much as we loved Ledger, and they don't get two years in a row. Why should Legder?
