My most-anticipated MCU UHD. This will look amazing; my only slight regret is that I actually kinda like the IMAX AR on this movie (and the 3D), but whatever. And the old Steelbook is impossible to beat so I'll pass on the new one they'll inevitably come up with.

This is going to look fantastic with HDR.

Like I said in the other threads, I can't wait for the SteelBook! lol

This should look great indeed. The shifting aspect ratio looks great in this one. It would be smart of them to keep it but they 100% won't. In any case, there's a crazy amount of Disney releases to look forward to this autumn.
PS. Maybe I should sell the 3D I own? It's crazy expensive at Amazon right now.

Yeah the 3D is OOP. I sold the 3D and DVD discs that came with the Steelbook back when this first came out, but a few months ago I wanted the 3D and was lucky enough to find a complete 3D slipcover version for only $25ish. Most prices are way higher than that.

The 3D version is great but I have a good feeling the 4K really will be too.

I hope that they keep the flim grain intact within the Nepal scenes. Only those scenes were shot on film.

I can't imagine the 4k topping the sequence when Strange is first introduced to the mystical realm. That is one of the best sequences in film I have ever seen and I think depth and immersion plays a big role in that.

Disney

The 4K releases are almost complete: Iron man, Thor, Ant man, Doctor Strange. All we need is Guardians Vol I and(nevermind, I've seen Guardians is coming as well) I think that's it for the MCU. Almost all in one year. Thanks Disney!

Damn Disney really burned through the MCU catalogue this year! I'm happy they did!

I wonder what they have saved for 2020... Star Wars maybe?

That'd be nice. After that, while the chances are slim, I really hope they'll do Touchstone titles. So many great ones to pick from (Unbreakable, Sixth Sense, Signs, The Village, Enemy of the State, Apocalypto, Count of Monte Cristo, Tombstone, etc)

Yep, both for me. The HDR will make the magic look amazing but I'm not giving up my IMAX AR since over half the movie is in it and it looks great as well.

Not forgetting that they also have Fox's catalogue too now. Hopefully the Alien and Die Hard sequels will show up before too long alongside the first two Wolverine films.

But I'd settle for more Disney and PIXAR catalogue however. Maybe Monsters Inc and Monsters University to tie in with the Disney+ series. Frozen seems like a safe bet as well.
