Saw Creature from the Black Lagoon was back on at £15 (13.50 after 10% discount), had disappeared from the site recently, so jumped in and got it.

Now have all the Universal Monster sets, in hand or on order

Could somebody please check the 3D disc for REVENGE OF THE CREATURE to confirm it's the corrected version? I got burned on the US release and I'm waiting for that info to re-order. Ta.

What's the difference between the two versions again?

I don't think the USA version has activate 3D flag so you need to switch to it your self on tv or projector.

The original US disc was encoded Side-by-side 3D instead of normal Over/Under. Some players could be forced to play the SBS releases, other either couldn't or it was so difficult people gave up.

Some feel the SBS presentation is substantially inferior to the usual BD3D format though several people that have watched both version haven't really been able to tell a lot of difference in the actual PQ.

Usually just putting it into a 3D player/TV setup should be pretty obvious if it the old disc or you can use BDInfo scan to see the files. OTOH, I just can't imagine 9 months later they'r be repackaging the old discs since it's been fixed in the US since Christmas -- not counting AMAZON US who seems to have been hoarding the recalled product and are selling them off as new.

Mine arrived yesterday from Zoom. Obviously the Creature set is slimmer than the others due to less films, but it was a little weird to see the design on such a smaller case!

Aren't the US releases in those smaller elite cases anyway? I'm faily certain I saw the Dracula set in a lot slimmer case a while ago. God knows why we get those garbage tier Amaray 24mm cases here. They're such a waste of space and break when you as much glance at them.

Yeah my Frankenstein set has both sets of inner hubs fubared, and it's a pain to get just right to close again.

My Invisible Man set arrived yesterday. It’s a shame to see they changed the design of the slip cases so the spines don’t match up at the top. I assume the Creature set is the same. Why don’t the designers just use the same template but update the text
