Set of 3 Berkline Theater Seats at Costco!

Hey, I've been searching for the right seating arrangement for my home theater / gameroom for a couple of years now. I wasn't sure if I wanted true theater seats, a sectional, or a separate chair/sofa/loveseat combo.

Well, while at my son's basketball game Saturday, my wife mentioned to another boy's mother that we still hadn't found seats, and she mentioned that Costco had a great set of 3 seats in brown for $799. I was about half paying attention due to the game, but afterward, my wife suggested we go check them out. Now I've seen some of the seats Costco carried from time to time and hadn't been too impressed.

When we got there, we couldn't find any out on the floor, so I asked an employee about them. He told me they just got a manufacturer's rebate of $300, so they sold everything except for the display for $499. He then asked if I was interested in the display, which was just set up the day before, and I said sure. He then wheeled over a brand new set of 3 Berkline theater seats in a brown suede microfiber, which works with our room colors perfectly.

Anyway, I'm still in shock that I landed these seats for $499. I was going there to see them at their regular price of $799. If any of you are interested, I'd suggest calling your local Costco to see if they have any. They were Berkline seats (Costco Item 313750), and the manufacturer's rebate, which is taken at the register, is good until 3/1/09.

I'll try posting pictures of them a little later. Here's a picture of the set I found at AVS. Apparently, they're going nuts over it.

Anyway, if you've ever priced out Berklines, you'll know that $499 for 3 is a really great deal. If' you're interested, they won't last long at that price.

Oh crap, I just bought mine a couple weeks ago for $799. I wonder if they'll adjust the price.

I've seen these in Costco before. I thought they were a great deal at $799. I might have to go down and check this out.

Good price. I could never do anything but leather though. Between my dog's claws and my kid's ability to spill ANYTHING, leather is a must in our house. Those look pretty sexy though!

I've got three dogs and an 11 year old (with friends). Trust me, microfiber hold up to a lot. I've got 2 microfiber couches and a chair in my den, as well as a leather set in my living room. Both microfiber and leather can take a beating. The microfiber has actually held up a little better than the leather.

I still cannot believe the deal on these seats though. I was home sick today, so I took the opportunity to watch Live Free or Die Hard for the first time. I cannot believe how freakin' comfortable these seats are. They have great support in all positions, and if I fully recline them, I just about fall into a coma.

I looked at these when I was at Costco one day. They are decent looking...but they seemed a bit flimsy. The arms would rock from side to side...dunno maybe they need to be interlocked to firm up?

That said...a set of 3 of these for $500 is pretty insane. Definitely jealous.

oh boy i saw these in our costco and almost pounced on the 799, but i like a darker brown.

for 500 though - i might be a little more color blind.

Do me a favor and pour Hawaiin Punch and spaghetti all over it and let me know how it cleans up. If it does, then it passes the 4-year-old test.

it'll be fine...we wash our microfiber off with Windex all the time...I have 5 kids...14, 12, 10, 7, 5....microfiber is IT for kids...

I called earlier and spoke to the manager about refunding me $300, since I purchased on 10 Feb for $799. She agreed, although it's not standard practice.

I also wanted to buy another set and their computers showed one in stock, however, they confirmed the computer was incorrect. They even called another store and both are out of stock. According to them, furniture is considered a seasonal item, so they mark them down to move at the end of the season. If I want another set, then I need to wait until Aug and hopefully they'll bring back the same color. Guy on the phone mentioned the previous 5 years he's worked there, they only offered this set in black leather. This year was the first in brown microfiber.

Hrm. I hear "fiber" and feel the material and would think differently. Good to know, though I did just buy some Berkline reclining couches so I'm set for now.

That's a crock! It is definately standard practice! We adjust pricing at our store all the time and NO QUESTIONS asked, as long as it's within 30 days!

yeah, seriously...that is standard practice for ALL Costco stores...thats why they have been so successful.

They're not flimsy at all. When they're locked together the set is rock solid. The quality of these seats is really good. I have friends who own a custom furniture company, and they specialize in making sofas, loveseats, and chairs. They've taught me what to look for over the years.

I typically get stuff custom made by them. I bet they could build me a sofa to match. I may have to do it if I can't find a matching Berkline sofa.

She mentioned because it was a "manufacturers rebate", it is treated different than a regular price drop and the item would need to be purchased during the rebate window.

I just returned from Costco, along with my $300 + tax. Huge thanks to Kingofgrills for saving me $300+ dollars. I love you man!!

Hopefully, they'll bring this same color and style back in August so I can add an elevated back row. If not, then I'm sure I can sell these for at least $500 (keep tags on), then buy 2 sets of whatever costco brings in.
