Blu-ray Samurai

Another Umbrella disc, another dose of frame skipping on my Sony BD player. Are Umbrella ever going to fix this issue? It seems to have blighted most of their releases this past couple of year, appearing suddenly out of nowhere.
No other disc label has this with such regularity. As for the film (the first one at least), it's a likeable bit of 80s tat, obviously inspired by Cannon's many Ninja films. It has an agreeably grainy look (Super-16?), but the picture twitches in the gate a lot; an unusual thing in a modern Blu-ray transfer. I'm guessing they used a lot of ADR as the dialogue seems to have been added afterwards to a lot of scenes and sometimes doesn't match the actor's lip movements. This is particularly evident in earlier sequences. But it's good fun and I'm looking forward to watching the sequel. |

I doubt they will fix the problem, luckily for me i have a second panny player in a different room so I can plug that in if my lazer region free player doesnt work either as it's based on a sony lazer. I recommend emailing sony to see if the problems may be at their end

Only just found out about these two films just before this past weekend. Is Umbrella Entertainment's release a worldwide Blu-ray premiere?
