Story: Sue's husband goes missing and she becomes a local celebrity in the news. However, she soon finds herself in over her head, dodging cops and criminals, all while trying hide the the truth about her husband. This is an ALL-STAR cast with Alison Janney, Mila Kunis, Juliette Lewis, Regina Hall, Ellen Barkin, Wanda Sykes, Matthew Modine, Awkwafina and Directed by Tate Taylor.

PS: (as an extra in the film, I can vouch that the cast is doing an AMAZING job....but Allison is KILLING it. She's AMAZING!)

LOL....no, but I DID get to work for and with him in this film and my daughter was in his last film...MA. He's a great guy and our city is blessed to have him here giving back to our community the way he does.

I also got to play an extra in his TV show, Filthy Rich on FOX!

I'm sure my opinion is slightly altered because I was a part of the background cast in several scenes, but none-the-less....here's my honest review after finally seeing the final cut today...

It's always fun to see an all-star cast come together for a film project. This cast is no exception. Allison Janney finally gets her well-deserved leading role as Sue Buttons in this small-town crime caper that goes wrong.

It's Sue's birthday, but no one has remembered, not her news reporting sister, Nancy (Mila Kunis), her cheating husband, Karl (Matthew Modine), nor any of her co-workers. After Sue catches her husband in an affair, he dies from shock, leaving Sue with an opportunity to finally get some long overdue attention after hiding his body and claiming he was kidnapped. However, the attention she draws comes from a suspicious and relentless cop (Regina Hall), local criminals (Awkwafina & Clifton Collins Jr.), the disgruntled mistress (Bridget Everett) and a flashy talk show hostess (Juliette Lewis) attempting to exploit her for a story. One wrong choice begins a domino effect of mishaps, mayhem and a trail of dead bodies.

Jimmi Simpson and Wanda Sykes team up to provide some comic relief and a madcap sub-plot as Sue's brother-in-law (Petey) and his boss (Rita) who set out to rescue Karl from the non-existent kidnappers.

The story is fun and the characters are engaging but it's difficult to label this adventure. It's promoted as a madcap comedy, but it's unexpected twists take a very dark turn and delivers a violent, dark, comic, crime-caper instead.

The performances are strong and memorable, but plot is a bit complicated and complex. All in all, it's a fun ride through Yuba County with Allison Janney at the wheel.

Parents be warned, the R rating is well earned for excessive language, brief nudity and violence.

I actually found this to be hysterical for the most part. It’s B-movie trash in the best ways. The trailer definitely sells you a different bit of goods so when you watch things unravel, it’s so ridiculous that you can’t help but laugh your ass off.

Allison Janney is clearly having the time of her life in this batshit role. All the side players too. Wanda Sykes, Awkwafina and Bridgett Everett all had me rolling in laughter at pints.

Regina Hall’s wig was still atrocious but she was hysterical as well as the detective trying to find Karl.

The only side story I found pointless and a waste of time was including Samira Wiley. She’s incredibly talented but completely wasted here. I’d rather her portion be cut in favor of adding to someone else. I know she was married to Karl’s brother but he was at least integral to the plot.

I think the only purpose she served was a reason for Petey to WANT to go clean and to

The only plot point left open is Nancy survived and knows the truth now, since she heard Sue's recorded conversation with Leah and she heard Sue tell Nina's dad that she knew where Karl was after he

. So, Nancy is the ONLY living soul who knows the truth of what Sue did. In the script...Nancy was

as well. I'm glad they let her

Look at the crazy prices on this. $34.99 at Best Buy and the same price at Target.com... well Amazon is matching the WalMart price but without the Walmart $5.99 shipping fee so it's $14.96 if you have Prime (which I do at the moment). Got my order in. I automatically buy all movies that Juliette Lewis is in.

update: Walmart and Amazon have both sold out of this title. Mine is scheduled to show up on Thursday and Amazon sent it by UPS 2 Day delivery, which is unusual.

Received this today from Amazon. From the looks of the info on the back cover there are no extras at all, not even a trailer. Sound is dts HD MA 5.1. Slipcase included.

Oh man, I love this movie! This is funny! Lots of recognizable faces and an interesting story. I’ll buy this movie to watch it again.
