Default What’s the most you ever paid for a single Blu Ray?

Dawn of the Dead is one of my top 10 favorite movies. On a near daily basis I contemplate buying a copy, but can’t bring myself to shell out $60+ for one movie.

What’s the most you ever paid for one movie? What is the limit where you say “that’s too much money?”

like $75 for some really nice version of Wall-e. Don't think I could ever spend that much on a single movie again though.

$35 for Turbo Kid. Also went in on an Indiegogo campaign for In Search of Darkness at $44. Most of the time though, I try to wait and find bargains, these are rare exceptions.

I think full price $40 for Possession. If we are talking box sets or multiple films that’s different.

I got luck with Dawn. Got it for like $9.99 at FYE in 2012, right around the time it started going for extremely high prices.

Almost £40 for the Criterion BD of Don't Look Now, and then two weeks later the Studio Canal 4K release was announced...

I think I paid about $145 for The King of Pigs Limited Edition Plain Archive release. That was back in 2015. There's been 6 or 7 releases I've paid over $100 for.

Don't think I've ever spent anything too outrageous, probably £30 ish for a US Criterion imported to the UK is my max ever.

The most I ever paid for a single movie was about $21 (I forget which movie). Normally, I keep my price point to less than $20. Best Buy quite often has new releases for less than $20 (not always, however). Amazon can also be a good source. And, of course, there's always Black Friday.

Since there's a similar thread, please shame anybody that starts putting in anthology sets or TV series sets.

Here's a question: Does single Blu-ray mean a one-disc title? For example, there are multi-disc sets, like the Blade Runner one, which are dedicated to a single film.

Probably this:

50th anniversary special blu-ray, with 3 brand-new episodes of the 60s series. Very rare Kickstarter exclusive, never available for retail.

Ouch! There's a region free version from Australia that sells for $20 shipped. Came out in January.

Just shelled out $33 each to get the StudioCanal 4K UHDs of THEY LIVE and PRINCE OF DARKNESS. Pricey but well worth it for a huge upgrade from the Scream Factory editions. Also paid $35 on eBay several years ago to get the single HALLOWEEN 1978 disc from someone's boxed set, so I could have the "35th Anniversary" image with the original mono. And that was DEFINITELY worth it, IMHO.

Royal Space Force: Wings of Honnemaise was probably $60+ for the Bandai Visual box.
