Anyone here have this? Im thinking about importing it next week, along with Se7en. Comment on PQ/AQ and the movie itself, thanks.

I have this one, its a great entertaining movie if you like the genre.
PQ is pretty good, I was expecting the worst as its not a very well known movie and I don't think it did too well in the theatre. I would assume its the same encode as the HD DVD that came out. I would recommend it for a fan of horror or cheesy B movies...

I would have bought it already if not for the fact it is only encoded in 1080i resolution. Film-based material like this movie really benefits from 1080p.

Where do you get that its 1080i? The pic above says that its FULL HD 1080. Doesn't that translate to 1080p? Heck, even the info for the movie on this site says it's 1080p.

The packaging has a typo. It has been confirmed to be at 1080i on other sites.

Um a bug movie reminded you of a "vapire" movie? I'd like to hear the reasoning.
This is a great little flick more in the vain of Night of the Creeps.

Is it the same deal as the Nine Inch Nails - "Beside you in Time" disc? Where it is actually 1080p30 but is flagged as 1080i60?

Oh no, seriously!? Crap. I wonder if/when it's released here in the U.S. it may have a new encode? I doubt they'd go through that kind of trouble for a movie that isn't a flagship title, but here's to hoping anyway. If not I may just hold off indefinately.

Thumbs down since nobody said it yet.

i didn't like this movie at all and i will not buy it on blu-ray.

this is no "Shaun of the dead". If you want to be funny, imnsho you have to :
- have talent
- have a story to tell. (there is just no plot at all here)

I dont care if this movie is 1080i 1080p or 1080abcdef. It looks great playing on my PS3. Just as good as it did on HD DVD.

I doubt this movie is coming anytime soon in the US since it hasn't sold nearly as well as they hoped (theater run and dvd) so don't let the 1080i thing be a dealbreaker.

I had no idea and couldn't tell the difference in PQ.

Maybe no one has said it because you're the only one thinking it.

It says on the case and the HD-DVD was 1080p also. I imagine it is the same transfer as the HD-DVD

And if its 1080i nobody can tell the difference between 1080p and 1080i anyhow

Sadly the cases on many exclusive Canadian titles report incorrect information about the 1080i/1080p difference. I believe it has gone both ways too.

Slither is definitely in 1080i, as seen here in the computer scan of it:

Default 1080i

I was about 10 mins in to this movie last night, then during a camera pan I suddenly clued in ... hey, telecine stutter, wth? Sure enough it is 1080i.

PQ-wise one of the worst BDs I've seen in a while. Loads of digital noise esp in dark scenes.

Many of the exclusive Canadian releases are taken from HD masters meant for broadcast on television or cable. I wish this movie got a better release in the U.S., but I doubt that will happen.
