There's also a Japanese release of The Shootist as well. I don't know about PQ however.

Yeah, where is The High and the Mighty? The 2-Disc Paramount DVD was an excellent set.
I'd like to see it with the 4-track stereo in lossless.

The DVD was Paramount. The Batjac films owned by the Wayne family were originally released by WB theatrically. Except for Track of the Cat they were never syndicated for television and remained unseen for decades. The Wayne family has all original elements in a vault. When DVD came along they cracked open the vault and made a deal with Paramount for DVD distribution.
For BD releases, some company is going to have to make a deal with the Wayne family and gain access to the elements stored in the vault on the Wayne property.
The western SEVEN MEN FROM NOW is often mentioned around here on want lists. It's one of the Batjac films in the Wayne vault.

Thanks for the correction, and additional information. Fixed my post.

I'd love to see a domestic BD of 7MfN. I note it's available on the Amazon Japan website. Looks official.

Can't remember where I saw it, maybe on one of the DVDs, but there is an interview with Michael Wayne where they go into the vault and show the reels of film and negatives.
