Family Video has been selling codes in store for a while now. I haven't stepped foot in one for a year or so but hit all three of our locals in the past few days. There are tons of older codes that were 99 cent/$1.49 for 2 codes at all three of my locals and I bought a good amount. New releases are typically 7.99 or 3/$21.
Ones I bought: 99 cents/2 for $1.49: Lowriders Kidnap The Promise Grow House Geostorm The Bounce Back Big Little Lies Season 1 Vice Principals Season 1 Annabelle: Creation Almost Christmas Shut In Rings Sleepless mother! Thank You for Your Service and two I didn't know were FlixFling $6 They Shall Not Grow Old They do not sell Disney Digital anymore because they're afraid of getting sued (I'm guessing). The manager said they send all Disney codes to corporate. Disney won't even sell them rental discs and the managers have to buy them at release at Best Buy/Walmart. |

If you are picking up codes make sure you check if they are iTunes only. Since stores will write it on the box and some won't. It's usually STX titles that are. A few that come to mind are:
Molly's Game Mile 22 Bad Mom's Christmas Happytime Murders |

Good advice. I knew Molly's Game was Itunes only. But, since I do most of my viewing there, I was fine with that. |

On a somewhat related note... I decided to make my monthly run to one of the stores and pick up some blus. I love this particular location because it is smaller store and they move stock out fairly quick when it isn't rented much. Add in the fact that it is in a farming community with less than 4500 people, so once an item is off the new release wall it goes $1.99 / 2 for $3 really quick. |

Wouldn't they also need to alert us about titles that are UV only?

They actually had a huge list of codes available. They’re not allowed to sell Disney or Sony codes. Yeah, definitely worth a trip to if one is in your area. |

I stopped by a family video while driving back into town last night(we don't have any in my immediate area). They didn't have a display of digital movies out anymore like I've seen before. I did see the digital movies sign sitting on the floor so it's possible that store isn't doing digital codes anymore or they are rearranging. Interestingly enough it seems they've started expanding their offerings by selling cell phone plans and cbd oil lol

Hmmm, that makes sense. The FV I went to in the Western part of the state a while back had a specific aisle. Maybe I'll check the one near my family next time I visit.

I think I have seen the cell phone set up at 3 of the 5 stores I frequent and the cbd oil at 4 of the 5. The 2 without the cell phone desks are more rural stores and the 3 with them are more in the city. The CBD oils are at all but the rural store that also happens to be in a very conservative/religious area... So I'm guessing it is probably a "know your market" type business move. |
