Meh. This is useless to me, but if a kid grabs it and watches the half made before 2000- and seeks out the original cut of Exorcist as a result- then I'll call this a win.

I mean, if I wanted to save space in my collection, I'd get this.

This is kind of an odd collection. My guess is it caters to the casual viewer, or someone walking through walmart around Halloween thinking it would be fun to watch. Bunch of movies likely at a lower price point. Personally, not that I'm an expert, but if I were them I would have released it around Halloween and thrown it on a bunch of end caps in stores.

This is what I was thinking. This screams "Budget Release" to sell old stock. I'd be curious if this ends up as 10 discs or if they start putting multiple movies on the same disc...

This what happens when a studio just throws a handful of titles they own together by genre only, with no other links between them. I already own all of these I would want (no need for Conjuring or Annabelle) so easy pass.

Even if I didn't already own most of these I want, this kind of "grab bag" genre-based collection always screws up my OCD something fierce.

This collection is useless to me and (likely) other dedicated horror fans because they’d have bought these individual movies on release day.

I saw this at Walmart in other day... and I already own A Nightmare on Elm Street Collection, The Lost Boys (Triple Feature) & Friday the 13th (2009). So I'm pass this set.

Also I saw another set of King of Horror (8 Film) from Warner

Salem's Lot
The Shining
Creepshow
Cat's Eye
IT (1990)
The Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile
Dreamcatcher

Shawshank and Green Mile are NOT horror!
At least that has the King tie to all films, but those 2 really shouldn't be there IMO.

I'll make you a bet that Walmart is putting up the end caps with the promos for this as we speak. They probably released it in July because that is the dead season for replication. The rush starts to meet the Halloween horror title street dates and extends all the way through Christmas. They probably cranked this out with an eye on Halloween. Not dumb at all. I can see moms buying this.

Keyword is "KING", not "Horror". SK is mostly known for horror, and this set mostly features horror, with a couple of non-horror King classics. Would be weird if they didn't include them, imo.
