Always down for some new Soderbergh. I assume it'll be Laundromat?

The contender I'm most curious about is The Pope. My fellow Brazilian Meirelles hasn't made a successful film since The Constant Gardener, almost 15 years ago.

I'm fascinated by Soderbergh and Baumbach the most, for sure. Oh, and of course Polanski.

This should be great.

I'm afraid you're gonna have to travel to Europe to do so. The film was screened for American buyers months ago but no distributor wanted to touch it with a 10-foot pole.

Oh, crap. Not that I would mind traveling to Europe again sometime soon, but it wasn't in the plans.

What about Canada? I live about 10-15 minutes away.

This more recent Variety piece about acquisitions mentions nothing about Canada, but the film hasn't been sold everywhere yet ("Playtime is in negotiations to close several more deals in major markets."). Better keep an eye on it if going to Canada is an option for you.

A Polanski film got second place and the "incel movie" took top honors. Can't wait for the hot takes and think pieces. actually, yes, I can wait
