Default Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - The Mind Melting Last Scene Speculation Thread

Kevin Smith said the following about his visit to the set of The Rise of Skywalker:

Quote:
“There was a scuttlebutt about the set there at Pinewood [Studios]. They’re like ‘you have to see this. When you see it, it will melt your mind.’ So I ask J.J., ‘they keep telling me I should see the set.’ He’s like ‘don’t. It’s the last shot of the movie. You don’t want this spoiled. You want to be in a theater when this happens. Trust me.’
What could this mind-melting set be? Here are some of my conclusions:
  1. It must be something weird and unexpected, yet somewhat familiar.
  2. It will be related to the introduction of a new threat to continue the franchise.
  3. It will be connected to a powerful Dark Side villain.

What are your guesses?

Like Haley Joel Osment in A.I., Artoo is frozen in ice for thousands of years. He is discovered by explorers and travels to.our galaxy, where he encounters The Keeper of the Whills (played by Mark Hamill). The Keeper transcribes his story of The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, and then gathers round all his family and friends to hear it read to them from the Journal of the Whills. The Keeper begins.... 'A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away'.

Iris out.

End credits.

Jar Jar Binks awakes from his slumber, revealing that the entire original and sequel trilogies have all been a Naboo-shroom fueled hallucination.

There is a reason why i posted that info in the News/Updates ONLY tread so i don't have to make a new one .

Why do you keep making new treads about Star Wars?

I've made NO threads about Star Wars apart from this one, bub. Second, this thread is limited to a specific topic... not news about Star Wars: TROS.

I hope this isn't one of those final scenes where they put more thought into the final scene then the whole movies.

it's the last movie of the trilogy, there shouldn't be any big twisty final scene...it should wrap up the Skywalker saga not set up the next movie...there is no 'next' movie for another few years...and the next trilogy is going to be something completely different possibly an Old Republic prequel so it makes no sense that Episode 9 would have some shocking final scene

Disney has retitled the Star Wars movies. They've removed the episode numbers, perhaps in a bid to not entirely close off that history.

Mind-melting might be Yoda making a grilled cheese sandwich.

Possibly Doctor Strange and Carol Danvers pop in to pick up the love child they abandoned years ago and are surprised that she has become a Jedi with an English accent. As Captain Marvel is about to vaporize Kylo, he is suddenly revealed to have been Loki in disguise the whole time. At this awkward moment, Thor and Luke (Luke having simply transported away for a while and not actually dying) show up with a keg of beer and they all have a big party. A good time is had by all until Rocket Raccoon steals R2D2's arm and all havoc breaks loose.

Seriously, however, I don't want the movie to end with a mind-melting moment. It doesn't seem fitting for a movie series to end with a twist after 40 years

episode numbers or not this is still the end of the Skywalker trilogy...maybe there's some shocking scene in the middle or end but I don't see any shocking final scene happening

Mind melting final scene, you say?

Well obviously it's going to be Max Rebo managing to escape tatooine to finally play his ultimate jazz gig

Yes, on official artwork and packaging, but the episode numbers aren't being removed from the opening crawls.

Time travel is so stupid for Star Wars that if it is true I hope they go full on idiotic and have Spock involved somehow.
