This is just weird and funny at the very same time.
Imagine a world where franchises don't exist and each movie is a standalone product and it's not getting any sequel(s). How do you think the story would "go on" for the characters, at least in your imagination? My start: "THE EVIL DEAD" (1981). Imagine a world where "Evil Dead II", "Army of Darkness" and "Ash vs. Evil Dead" have never been produced and filmed. I guess Ashley is possessed by the Kandarian Demon and... well, I don't know. Is it the start of the "rise" of the Kandarian Demon on Earth? Surely. I think Possessed Ashley would wander for days (weeks?) in the woods, until he meets and attacks some people. And that would be the "ground zero" of the "rise" of the Kandarian Demon on the entire planet. From this perspective, "The Evil Dead" is just a kind of prologue to an apocalyptic tale. |

I love them, but I would wipe out the four Planet of the Apes sequels, instead doing:
Planet of the Humans. Inspired by his meeting with Taylor, Cornelius turns his attention away from the past & looks toward the future of ape-kind, putting all his energy into space flight. After much comedic trial & error (and many trips to the Forbidden Zone), he eventually succeeds, creating a DIY rocket that (barely) flies. Years later, a much larger, refined version carries a full crew of Ape-onauts into space, including an extremely pregnant Zira... and they run into the same time warp that Taylor encountered. The ship breaks up, cabin & crew seemingly lost. Cornelius manages to crash land the remnants, and he wakes up in handcuffs on modern day Earth. His captors include Taylor, who has never met him -- his mission was due to blast off in a few weeks. They tell him that Zira & the baby died in the crash. Actually, they're being kept at a nearby zoo. As a terrified Zira cowers in a corner of her cage, another ape approaches. It looks around to ensure they're alone, then stands upright & speaks. "Fear not, sister. Your crew did not die. They crashed here over a thousand years ago. We, their descendants, are ready to take our place in this world. Our world. We have been waiting for you for a long time. The revolution begins tomorrow..." ![]() |

I always had imagined a Blade Runner sequel prior to 2049 about Deckard in space. No plot details, just the exploration of the off-world stuff.

Halloween. Myers, the shape, or whatever this walking body of death was, got up and vanished into the night never to be seen again. Loomis and Laurie would live out their days never knowing if that terror would ever come back. You could make a whole movie just on that uncertainty but of course, no knifes or stabbing= no happy fans.
