Guerrilla releases Killzone 2 patch 1.11 - Blu-ray Forum

Guerrilla Games has been quick to roll out a new patch for Killzone 2 that effectively stifles the ability of players to pad out their game stats by abusing bot armies.

In patch 1.11, players can no longer add bots to online games as Guerrilla has noticed that some players have been fighting against low-end bots to increase their experience points.

Guerrilla says this is just a temporary solution, though, and a more permanent one is "forthcoming".

But can we still mop the floor with low level bots, just without the experience? Amazon still hasn't shipped my game yet theough

you can still play with bots. but, you dont get no XP.

Mine from Amazon shipped on the 25...and is still sitting in a UPS warehouse as of the 27

hmm. im still working on how their 'point system' is for k2.

thats sad that people STILL need to cheat to get the higher rank. its a fact: its only a number.

anyhoo... i can still play by myself right? dump in a whole bunch of bots, and end up going against them, like the first killzone right? this is probably the ONLY reason why i reconsidered buying k2 in the first place. no other game i know has bots to play around with. much quieter, no annoying [Rain] schemes, no 'i can hear the baby' in the headset either.

you can play with bots. but, you dont get no XP.

I wanted to play with a friend online using bots and you can no longer add bots at all to online games. You can only add bots in an offline game. I was hoping it would be like TimeSplitters. My friend and I used to play that game for hours in deathmatch against bots. Good times.

Why? cuz now you can't get cheap XP by abusing low level bots to pad your stats?

I'm glad they did it. the bots were way too easy. Playing with real people is soooo much better. and like they said, it's only a temperary solution...

The problem is the developers f'd up the game and made it so you have to play online to get XP and you NEED experience points to use different characters and different weapons.

Without going online you are stuck with only 2 weapons, which is lame. So yes, you have to do the grind if you want to really get into playing against the bots even..

Frustrating for people who don't have a crapload of time to play games.. Spent a good chunk playing today and only the last two battles was I finally able to use a freaking shotgun.. Still only 1 of 6 classess available.
