The sandwich is arguably one of the best single food items in the world. Pair it with chips or fries and a beer and BAM! heaven on a plate.

It can be traced back to the 4th Earl of Sandwich. It is said that he asked for meat to be served between slices of bread, to avoid interrupting a gambling game. Soon people started ordering “the same as Sandwich”, and the name stuck.

But I digress, what is your favorite sandwich? If I forgot to list one in the poll feel free to mention it and give it props.

I pretty much like them all.

But the Reuben followed closely by the French Dip are probably my faves.

As a Chicagoan I had to pick Italian Beef, but I love mostly all sandwiches

Grilled Cheese for me. I slow fry (low heat cooking) the sandwich, always with three slices of cheese: mozzarella, american cheese and cheddar. The slow frying technique takes up to 10-12 minutes per sandwich side, but it is totally worth it. Not only because of the super crunchy crust, but the different cheeses slowly melt and blend into a delicious whole.

It is the perfect grilled cheese.

My favourite, I have to say, is Croque Madame. It is pretty insane and one sandwich usually knocks me out.

1. 2 French Toasts (preferably using brioche soaked in egg + maple syrup + cinnamon) pan fried golden in butter
2. Ham (Italian rosemary ham is nice) and cheese (Swiss or Gruyer) of choice in between
3. Heap of grated cheese on top then baked until brown and dripping over the sides
4. Top with a fried egg

If it ends up weighing about 2 lbs, you got it right. I feel bloated just thinking about it.

Cheesesteak is my #1, plain w/ provolone and teriyaki sauce. Sadly, the cheesesteak place at the Northern food court of Gurnee Mills mall in Gurnee, IL closed and got replaced with some other sandwich place.

There was a small sandwich shop run inside a business park I used to work at that would make dipped Italian Beef sandwiches, loved them so much despite the mess. Sadly, they closed too.

Lately, I've been getting "The Cheef" at Rosati's. Italian beef on Italian bread, topped with melted mozzarella. The add some seasoning that makes it perfect.

I honestly can’t decide between Coronation Chicken, Cheese & Pickle/Chutney, Duck & Hoisin (wrap), Roasted Mediterranean Veg & Houmous or All Day Breakfast (bap).

I prefer a nice soft Farmhouse loaf or floury bap, though I love all bread, paninis and wraps, white/brown/seeded etc.

I won’t eat bread if I’m on a low-carb kick, but sometimes I can’t help myself. Resistance is futile lol.
