Well, this came out of nowhere. One of McKellen's best performances and a fantastic film overall. Only issue, is that this looks to be BD-R. Wish they would get on the Sony and Universal bandwagon with MOD making them pressed.

The best film of its year, afaik. Been waiting for the better part of a decade. Even if it's a BD-R, I'm gonna dive right in. God knows how long it'll take to be released in the UK.

I've pretty much avoided all of the Lionsgate BD-R, but this is a movie I really like. I'll get a BD-R of it over nothing. Just wish it was pressed. Has anyone bought any of the Lionsgate BD-R recently? Just wondering if there have been any issues?

Thank God this movie is finally on Blu.

I only own two BD-R discs and they look great. At the end of the day, it's not the actual quality we should be concerned about, but the life span of the disc?

BD-R is a trend now with Lionsgate. Had this been released a few years back it would've gotten a proper pressed BD. Shame they took this long.

I personally wanted someone like Criterion or Arrow Academy to pick up this title. I guess having a BD-R release is better than nothing. My DVD copy is old and looks bad on modern TVs.

I bought and watched the old Universal Collectors Edition just a couple of months ago from a used media store. I had been looking for it for awhile.

Yay, Gods & Monsters is finally coming to Blu-ray. Boo that it’s BD-R. We really need to start an email campaign to Lionsgate to start doing the pressed MOD route of Warner, Universal, and (now) Sony. If they don’t want to do that, then it’s time to start licensing out...

Regarding the whole BD-R thing: the quality is the same, and it will last longer than any of us.

I hadn't watched this for a long time until a bit more than a year ago. Forgot how fine a film it was. This definitely was a surprise.

This was re-released by Anchor Bay on DVD in the UK - for some reason they cropped it so that it was full screen. Fingers crossed we’ll see it in its OAR when it hits Blu.
