Hopefully they package it well. Unfortunately the 3 orders I have made with them have all been sent in a jiffy bag and all had some kind of damage. Maybe I'm just unlucky.

Is it really just a childrens film or what?

Or is it a scenario where people who seen it when they were a child are going be liking it more with fond memories of it?

Myself i like all types of sci-fi films even better if there made well & still hold up well even if there an older film.

This film does sound interesting though with the added news also that the new blu-ray release is damn great.
It's one of those movies that as a kid I thought was really interesting with humor and adventure. Watching it as an adult I didn't think it was really that good of a movie.

Oh damn Well I will keep my fingers crossed.

Maybe they use different packaging for shipping overseas?

My copy from Amazon (using a Prime trial to save on postage) was delivered by the driver’s prepubescent son! He seemed very sweet but first time I’ve had this happen, I wasn’t sure whether it would be mine until I checked the Amazon app as I was thrown off guard by the situation.

A little disappointed that the majority of the booklet is the storyboard, but I really liked seeing the storyboard printed in Candyman, the making of essay looks good and substantial, the archival material seems informative and I adore seeing these behind the scenes photos, film strips, polaroids as part of the design! The box is really nice seeing the sky on the artwork wrap around, and I appreciate being able to reverse the cover to the theatrical poster art - even if it’s less obvious it can be flipped with Second Sight’s standard black cases. Everything’s printed on really good paper, the poster is glossy and quite large and is more of something you’d want to put up on the wall compared to the inserts with Criterion and Arrow.

I appreciate Second Sight releasing two Disney films that aren’t quite Disney films (in terms of international distribution rights) with this and Super Mario Bros. Maybe that’ll be one of the next Second Sight releases I get if they ever stop releasing limited editiins?

My last two purchases from Amazon.com.uk arrived in an oversized, cardboard mailer. The flimsy kind. Not even the sturdy wraparound one. The one for In Bruges had a tear in the cardboard, and was completely open at one end. Luckily the movie was in perfect shape. Flight of the Navigator, which arrived today, came in the same oversized mailer but, no damage outside or inside. I do use global priority though, on these special editions. That way it's not out in the wild as long, and not as many hands are touching it.

Here's a pic of my SS collection so far. All in perfect shape.

Got mine last evening - luckily in perfect condition. What an awesome set - wish Disney put this kind of effort into all of their classic films. Damn, just give the lot to these guys to deal with.

Actually I get better packing from Amazon UK (a cardboard mailer with some bumpers around) than Amazon US (just a paper mailer!!! ). Overall all the UKs arrive well and the a lot damage from US.

It's kind of a guessing game for me, on what type of packaging they'll use. I have been pretty lucky with not receiving any damaged movies. I hope that streak never ends.

Mine arrived today in a massive padded bag, luckily it wasn't damaged.

Not sure why they don't send this type of thing in a box, seems crazy! Yet they'll send a mobile phone case in a massive box!...bonkers!

My copy was shipped in an airtight envelope but arrived without damage, unless you count the shrinkwrap being a little loose and torn in a couple of places. Thing looked like it had been opened and hastily resealed. Does Second Sight have a webstore? Maybe they take better care with shipping.

Is Flight of the Navigator licensed from Disney? All sorts of possibilities are swimming around in my head now

I ordered direct from SS-packaging is honestly on par with Power House. I highly recommend them.

I do not know if it is licensed directly from Disney but, the logo appears before the film.

Classic amazon. When will they learn, with returns and replacements etc they must be losing money. Surely it would be cheaper to just package them properly?

I got my copy today and it arrived in an oversized cardboard mailer with zero protection but she survived the trip over the pond.

Really digging this set and looking forward to watching it soon. Anybody tear off their j-card yet? I see it’s secured to the front by a clear sticker so I’m hoping it won’t damage the cover upon removal, but if you leave it on too long and decide to tear it off...well, better sooner rather than later.

Just wanted to see what everyone else planned on doing with it.
