United Kingdom Tokyo Gore Police

I just discovered this is getting a new release. Does anybody know any of the details (new transfer? consolidated extras?)?

Looks like it's coming out in May… as for special features it just says "Interactive Menus"!

According to Screenbound Pictures:

Quote:
- High quality picture.
- Region: 2
- Duration: 110 mins
- Certification: 18

Extras on this Blu-ray will include:
- interview with director Yoshihiro Nishimura
- original Japanese trailer
- interview with actor Eihi Shiina
- original promo reel
- Japanese premiere featurette
- TV Adverts
- 'The Making of Tokyo Gore Police' Featurette
- UK Trailer
Seems like everything from the 2-disc Special Edition DVD.

I find it odd that they haven't been promoting this release AT ALL; not even on Facebook; though they promote their other releases. Sort of makes me think that maybe it isn't going to be as high quality of picture as they say. It releases tomorrow and the only way I was able to find out any info on it was to ask them on Facebook, and I actually had to ask them twice. The first time I asked, they said they had to hunt down the info, then they just never responded.

It seems that they've moved the release date.

I suspect it's probably crap because Screenbound Pictures still haven't mentioned its existence on their FB page and Amazon.uk now lists a different label (Yume) as having released it.

When did Yume last release even a DVD?

I have no idea. I had never even heard of them until I noticed the change on the Amazon product page.

This one on 25th February this year. Prior to this their previous DVD release was May 2017.

I guess this release is nothing but a waste of time. I recently asked Screenbound why there has been absolutely no hype from them around this release and they gave me a very disinterested answer and stated that Yume is releasing it and pretended that they never had anything to do with this release then proceeded to let their Facebook followers pile on me for "screwing up and asking Screenbound about a title being released by another label" and never said a word otherwise.

It basically has the same specs as the US release, albeit having MORE extras & all of it on 1 BD, NO 5.1 sound & extra HOH subs in addition to the English subs.

It says Screenbound on the back of the sleeve, so clearly they've had some involvement

I watched this yesterday and it has all the extras the 4 Digital DVD release had. The picture is definitely an improvement. Some of the subtitles is white text over other white text already on screen and some bits don't stay up long enough but overall they're readable

They were the ones that were originally planning to release it.
