In game music question

I have tracks from iTunes (iTunes+) that play fine on my PS3, but show up as "file type not supported" in-game.

Anyway to fix this?

It is happening with killzone. I have not had the opportunity to check other games.

1.) Are you trying to stream the files FROM your I-pod or do you have them saved on the PS3?
2.) If you rip them to the PS3, can you not convert the files to WAV or mp3?

I discovered this with warhawk there are certain titles that do not play during in game music one was a music trac sony provided it simly plays dead sound, its the lair song..

I can't really offer a solution why certain songs do not play, I have some ideas thought but there ideas only.

Some form of DRM that the ps3 sees that the ps3 decides should not be played while ingame..

Audio file contains required modes that are not supported by the game.

So far that is the only conclusion I can come up with, this happens on warhawk as well, and the song is the Lair song that sony distributed out to the playstation users either on the blog or store do not recall.

Ya I've had this problem too with Burnout Paradise and Motorstorm Pacific Rift. Music that is iTunes plus in the AAC format will not work for in game music. You have to convert them to MP3s.

Which is dumb considering when you rip CDs to the AAC format to the PS3, they work just fine for in-game music.

They have the DRM of iTunes, but they are "unprotected" iTunes+. Not sure what the file type is, but I am semi-sure I cant change it.


I have a playlist, it plays through the music fine out of the game. ONLY in-game does it claim the file type is unsupported. I am pissed that GG or Sony would let you play certain files sometimes but not other times. It must be an overlooked issue, because there is no obvious reason it would restrict the filetypes while in the game.

This is not GG's fault litterly does the same in other games as well.
