Default Misheard Lyrics?

We've all done it....... listened to a song and sung the words we THOUGHT we were hearing..... only to have a friend start laughing and correct us.

What's the funniest lyrics miscue you've ever heard?

I once had a friend who thought

"Big ol jet airliner.... don't carry me too far away"

was

"we gonna jam in a lighthouse"

www.kissthisguy.com is also a great place to read misheard lyrics.

Whatever happened
To tuesday and so slow
Going down to the old mine with a
Transistor radio.
Standing in the sunlight laughing
Hide behind a rainbows wall,
Slipping and a-sliding
All along the waterfall
With you, my ONE-eyed girl,
You, my ONE-eyed girl.

Correct: Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee...

Misheard: Oh Canada, we stand on cars and freeze...

Correct: You may be right, I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're lookin for...

Misheard: You made the rice, I made the gravy,
But it just may be some tuna fish you're lookin for...

I once saw a kid who thought the Bee Gees "more than a woman... more than a woman to me" was "four legg-ed woman."

There's an entire website devoted to this (it looks like someone copied several entries above).

It's amazing what some people hear.

You mean they're not really saying "pour some shook up ramen"? Damn, I've been in the dark for a while. JK. That was a great commercial. If I remember correctly, the girlfriend/wife calls the library to get the answer to the correct lyrics. How passé!

I may have this wrong twice, But AC/DCs song with the chorus "dirty deeds done dirt cheap" , when I was a kid I thought it was "thirty theives and the thunder king" I have no idea why I thought this.

my buddy didn't hear the "done dirt cheap" and said "dunder deet" - we were like "what the f---?!?" he said, they are Austrian and he didn't know if they knew English well enough to make the proper words - that friend was in his 20's but he was a classical musician and wasn't too up on modern music (like anything after old school Sinatra and Big Band)

one of the most common mishead lyrics is "there's a bad moon rising". people mistakenly think it's "there's a bathroom on the right".

I was actually corrected on a song today.

Was lisening to Sirius (looking at the display), and Van Halen song "Panama" comes on.

For YEARS I always thought he was saying: "Canonball"
