So, Finally an important of my reciever HAS DIED!!!!!!!!

The optical port in my reciver has just stoped working after 7 years

Now many of you are like, why so happy????!!


Because Tommorow I get to go into town and get the Onkyo 606 and finally get some HD AUDIO!!!!

Monocable is one, newegg also sells them just as cheap as mono does.

Untill I get an HDMI cablle for the reciever to hook it up to my Tv,

Can I use my Digital Optical cable from my ps3 to my reciever, and still Get HD AUDIO with that?

or do I need HDMI cable?

Sorry for the ignorance, but Im new to HD surround sound
