Default Cobra Kai Season 1 & 2 November 12th?

So Sony is releasing Cobra Kai on DVD on November 12th. As far as I know, Sony has always released its shows on Blu-ray as well. Should we expect a Blu-ray as well?

My bet would be no unfortunately. Seems like very little comes to Blu-Ray these days when it comes to tv shows.

Damn. Sony was the one studio that seemed to be OK with releasing its shows on Blu-ray.

Really hoping Sony doesn't go DVD only for its shows like a lot of the other studies. I really want the final season of Preacher to hit Blu-ray.

Sony hasn't been much different than the other studios. "Rescue Me" (which only saw season 3 get a Sony release) and "Damages" were quickly abandoned and it was years before they were licensed out to Mill Creek.

It is amazing that The Blacklist still gets a Blu-Ray release. But, Timeless, SWAT, Goldbergs, Schooled... those are all DVD only (Timeless also got a Blu-Ray release in Australia, though).

By the way, as an American owner of the Australian Blu-ray, I can assure everyone it is region-free.

Not "always" there have been many not released on BD, as BrandonJF has said. Sony is better than Fox and obviously Disney, but they've never released everything.

I think WB/WAC might be the best, but seems like even they're not in it as deep as they used to be.

Season 1 is also available in HD on VUDU and on sale right now. I have it and am waiting for season 2.

There are several shows Sony has refused giving Blu-rays. Like this show and Mr. Mercedes. But as it goes, foreign companies pick up the slack (I own the region free Australian Blu-ray of Mr. Mercedes and it looks and sounds great). I've heard the video/audio is pretty good for the most part for this show's Australian Blu-ray, so go ahead and grab it.

which is particularly ridiculous since one can just record off OTA or cable with much better quality than DVD (even if not nearly blu-ray quality so grrrrrrrr....)

You know, I can understand pre-HD shows not getting Blu-rays for multiple reasons (including that it would be too expensive to remaster), but there's absolutely zero excuse for shows already in HD to be shoved into DVD only.
