I don't live in the US but this year a third "new school" arcade opened its doors in my country, all by the same owner. They have Star Wars Battlepod, several Raw Thrills games like Batman (2013 driving game), Jurassic Park (2015) , Aliens Armageddon and Walking Dead
, Time Crisis 5, a couple of more racing games, that huge LED Pac Man game, a mini 4D experience and more non videogame related games. Pretty cool walking around there and playing videogames, even though they are rather expensive. But they're worth it, especially Star Wars Battlepod which really is a terrific experience! If I had a basement, I would have build my own arcade with authentic arcade cabinets of my favorite arcade games from the late 80s - mid 90s. |

There's a few Namco Funscape Arcades dotted around the UK, I drop into the one in Tamworth from time to time. They're a lot different to classic arcades though, overpriced, and you only get so much for your money, no carrying on until you run out of lives anymore. Even Pac-Man only gives you one life. They had a retro section for a while, complete with lots of old gaemes, but that's been replaced with some indoor adventrue playground thing for little kids now.
There's the odd retro arcade about, but none in my usual areas. Nottingham has the uk national video game museum. There's some amazing videos on Youtube of gaming arcades in people's houses (usually big American basements), where people have rescued classic machines. https://namcofunscape.com/ |

Golfland miniature golf centers around the US usually have an arcade, same with most gambling casinos and amusement parks. Movie theaters often have a few games as well although they have been trending more towards claw/challenge prize games instead. In any large city you should be able to find a barcade. This Christmas I plan on buying a table-top arcade kit for Raspberry Pi to run arcade games on. The last arcade machine I played was Golden Tee at a local auto repair shop last week while getting some new tires on my car. They had that game and Cruisin' USA set to free play.

Growing up, the nearest mall had an arcade called "Tilt".
Round One is the closest arcade that I can currently think of, but it's so pricey. There's a video game museum nearby that gives you tokens as part of the entrance fee that you can use to play in their vintage arcade. |
