Default The End Of Movie Theme Songs?

I just realized, not since Titanic (1997) and "My Heart Will Go On" was their any more theme songs accompanying films? Now their just seems to be scores but no theme songs with movie releases, i wonder why this is? Also i think with The Dark Knights score we could be seeing more "mood themed" soundtracks..like for the opening scene in The Dark Knight their was just this one note continuous sound, and it showed its head every now and then throughout the film, it suited it very well.

Plenty of movies have them. I think "Duel of the Fates" was the theme for SW: The Phantom Menace.

"Only Solutions" from Journey in the end credits for TRON!!!

Sorry. I know this thread wasn't asking for "favorites" but I just wanted an excuse to type T-R-O-N during the course of my workday. (And it's a cool song.)

Wild Wild West in 1999. I guess it was cool at the time.

Otherwise maybe it's just that we haven't noticed movie "theme songs", Eminem's "Lose Yourself" pretty much encompassed his characters story and I'm sure there are others that directly reference plot points in the movie.

Those are beginning of the movie theme songs though :P

Man...I just realized how much Live or Let Die does NOT match James Bond...still a great song though.

I think you and I are reading the threads differently.

I read it as: "Is it the end of Movie Theme Songs?"

You read it as: "End-of-Movie Theme Songs."

I think the OP is referring to the former.

The end of "Proof of Life" has a nice Van Morrison song during the credits. Although it was not written for the movie.

Exactly, the obvious examples are the Will Smith ones for Men In Black and Wild Wild West.

It'd be like if somebody came out with a track about Megatron getting revenge on Optimus Prime, or about the Watchmen storyline. I picture both of these being cheesy.

"The Wrestler" by Springsteen is titled after the movie but it seems it's more about a general character than Ram.

I love that song. It's called "I'll Be Your Lover, Too".

ROAR! from the end of Cloverfield. I thought it was a pretty intense way to the movie.
