Paramount Charmed The Complete Second season MOD 10/22!

Charmed - The Complete 2nd Season: Blu-ray Edition (CBS/Paramount)
$49.99 SRP Blu-ray MOD
-----The Halliwell sisters are back, and they've got the power of three! Charmed: The Complete Second Season casts a spell of excitement, adventure and fun as Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) continue their journey as modern-day witches. From the intense season opener, when the trio battles an old foe who attempts to render them powerless, to the suspense-filled - and at times humorous - season finale, these beautiful heroines will have you wishing for more. Their foes have unique ways of distrupting their drama-filled personal lives, just when they seem to get it together. Each exciting episode of Charmed: The Complete Second Season continues to work the magic that made this critically accaimed audience favorite a force to be reckoned with. Includes Original Soundtrack. 4-disc title.
NOTE: this is a manufacture-on-demand release on Blu-ray format, of a title originally put out to stores in 2005 on DVD format. Sales of the first season on Blu-ray were not high enough to continue with general retail on the second season, but the studio is moving forward with an MOD release to fulfill the demand of passionate fans for a BD release of the Season 2 of the original series.

That Facebook photo shows "Blu-ray Edition" instead of BR logo so I would say BD-R...

Wow, I can't believe we're actually getting it. Hoping for a UK release as well, they're usually cheaper for me to get.

What is the difference between a MOD and a regular release? Sorry if that's a stupid question, never heard of it before!

Hoping for a UK release aswell, since I doubt this will be region free?

The discs are burnt, not pressed.

Highly unlikely that any international release will happen, but I’m very grateful they’re doing this at all. Much better solution would just be a complete series set at a reasonable price but they’ll never learn.

Manufactured on Demand

Could be BD-R/Burned discs sort of like you'd make at home, but on a professional burner unti. Not all players are happy with BDR discs and always lots of questions about longevity so many people avoid them unless they're Dollar Store prices

Could be discs that are pressed in small batches at normal replication plants (like Warner Archives, Sony Non-Choice discs, and Universal MOD BDs) and cost savings are employed elsewhere in the distribution chain. The discs themselves are identical to non MOD discs since they'd pressed at the same plants, but often the case art and disc art and assembly appear to be done by cheaper methods.

CBS discs are the former

Just enough for CBS to say "but we tried!" when about 50 copies sell and S3 never happens.

I just pulled the trigger and bought the Book Of Shadows dvd set on ebay last week and that triggered this release. You're welcome.

Is it still the remastered version? Will the quality be as good as a regular blu-ray?

Season one was such a low-key release that I'm sure many people who might have purchased just weren't aware. Burned or pressed, I'm happy to support as long as they keep 'em coming.

That would be great, but it's not even possible at the moment. They haven't even finished remastering seasons 6-8.

I would think the fans (including myself) would prefer to wait for it. But yeah, it clearly isn’t happening, so I’ll grab this. Hopefully Amazon actually discounts it a little unlike the Jane the Virgin blu-rays. The Bullmoose link is a good sign, Jane the Virgin is only available on Amazon as far as I know.

You do understand that the release received high quality remastering and they most likely cut 1 BR off from this release because the menu might be static instead of the fancy animated one.
