Joan Allen. There are several movies where she should’ve at least been nominated for an Oscar.

Among them are Face/Off, the Jason Bourne series and Pleasantville.

To me definetely Carole Lombard. Since she's not listed Barbara Stanwyck.
Contemporary I'd say Amy Adams too!

Ouch. This was so tough. Like, pretty much impossible really. But here are the 5 I ended up going with:

Amy Adams
Catherine Deneuve
Greta Garbo
Michelle Williams
Rita Hayworth

For each of them, I can think of multiple films they were in where they deserved the Oscar. I mean, just the fact that Deneuve has never won, but has only been nominated ONCE is ridiculous. How did she not get nominated (at least) for Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Repulsion, Belle de jour, Tristana etc.? That's ridiculous.

I could go on and on about the others, but what's the point, really? I think it's fairly obvious that someone like, say, Amy Adams should have won at least once already. She's been nominated 6 times!

Thanks!

Yeah, I was a little sad and honestly surprised that she hadn't been chosen yet. I mean, Gilda alone should have her on that list.

Plus, she and I share a birthday.

Several surprising names on that list though.

Liv Ullman, although there are three or four others on that list who definitely should have received one as well.

Stanwyck

Although you could also make very good arguments for Garbo, Tierney (her performance in LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN is flawless) and Hayworth.

I mean, most of the actresses on that last list deserve to be recognized, but those four, it's practically scandalous.
