I like Vudu best. Movies anywhere is too restricting with Lionsgate & Paramount missing, as well as no tv shows. Compared to Apple, Vudu's disc-to-digital program gives it the edge imo.

I would take iTunes over Vudu, disc-to-digital is nice...but not better than free 4K upgrades. Also I feel if a service would go down, it would be Vudu before Apple.

I'd choose VUDU since the movies I have stay constant and I theoretically “own them”. I redeem all of my code sheets and have a bunch of digital movies that I don’t have the physical copy for. My home theater receiver has the VUDU interface on it as well as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. So it makes it easy to access.

When I started out I chose Vudu because it was on all of my devices and I could redeem my codes there. IF I was starting now, that would mostly be the same. Vudu on my devices, iTunes on none of them. When iTunes/Apple eventually gets an app everywhere then it may be a different conversation. And its really Vudu vs iTunes for me for digital movies. The others I may occasionally but wouldn't give them much thought if I had to pick just 1 provider

At least for me, if something gets a 4k release, I'd end up most likely just rebuying the 4k disc anyway. I guess it just comes down to preferences, I also just like Vudu's layout a lot more.

Hmmm a lot of movies that I have in iTunes are atmos while in Vudu they are Dolby digital plus. Also it’s nice that on some movies iTunes will give you the menu like if it is the actual disc.

I also like VUDU for the Walmart Instawatch feature: buy a movie from Walmart and you instantly get a digital copy for the movie. Even on movies that don't normally come with digital codes. On the ones that do you can give away the code sheet to someone else or sell it.
Most recently I purchased the 4K combo for Stand By Me which doesn't come with digital. Instawatch gave me the HDX version in VUDU. |

If I absolutely had to choose, it would be itunes, since that is where most of my movies and ALL of my TV shows were purchased. Free 4k upgrades and daily $4.99 sales are a huge bonus. I also prefer the streaming quality on itunes.
Thankfully, I don't have to choose ![]() |

I dont have much on iTunes .. maybe ~200 or so movies but a lot was purchased a long time ago and arent versions that were updated to 4k .. like it was an extended cut or something. Im pretty OCD about my collection nowadays and they are just eye sores. Im tempted to just start over in VUDU .. or is there a way to delete purchases from showing up in itunes ? Because if I purchase the 4k version of the movie I dont want to have both showing.
I do mostly use apple devices. |

Yeah, VUDU has sales and promotions all the time. There’s a very active thread here for it. I also like that VUDU streams hundreds of movies and series for free (with ads) on their service.

I honestly thought that Apple would sway a lot of consumers with free 4K upgrades, no other service is providing that. |
