From T2, the escape from the mental hospital. From T2, the whole Cyberdyne destruction sequence. I despised the other 3 movies, and would hate to call any scenes a favorite. |

T2- opening war- this was Cameron at his very best. He raises the technical bar, giving us a visual and auditory spectacle that the other movies haven't matched, and that's because he also gives a palpable sense of urgency and importance to the war scenes, setting the tone for the movie to come.
[Show spoiler] T1- technoir buildup- the last moments of normalcy in Sarah's life are shot in slow motion and the craftsmanship of this scene is superb. It's fitting that these last moments should be slowed down, in retrospect it makes you want to cling to those final seconds before everything changes. [Show spoiler] T2- dream sequence- grim and haunting as it is, this scene solidifies the second film as more than action picture. I can recall memories of my mother telling me that these kind of outcomes were very real, and upon learning that Cameron and team were given thanks by real scientists for their accurate depiction of a hydrogen bomb aftermath only chills me further. Its a rare instance of a blockbuster film going above safe entertainment to show something that's not comfortable, to say something serious that's worth our attention. [Show spoiler] I also want to throw a bone in for the opening 5 or so minutes of Terminator 5, it has legit music and good ideas in place........ but then we know what happens Last edited by TheSpruceMoose; 10-17-2019 at 09:32 PM. |
