surprised matthew modine is actually speaking about this movie he always hated it. maybe hes come around after all these years.. they filmed this between October and November 1982..

The only way to view the original uncut version is the very first VHS, laserdisc, and CED copies. All the deleted scenes were restored on older TV airings. I have a syndicated airing from 1997 that has some of those scenes, but that version is essentially an edited for content cut.

Ok,trying to figure out if this will be on the VHS cut or not. Almost 3 decades ago or so,there was a version playing on tv that wasn't in the regular cut. In the regular cut,it had this instrumental song. In the tv cut this song got lyrics ! It went something like this " Private school,youre going to a private school.Youre parents must have really been some fools to send you to a private school.

I know im not going crazy,and this cut was on tv.

Its definitely not the same transfer from the german blu ray,at least judging from the dvd beaver screenshots.Plus the german blu was around 11 gb for private school,this is a whopping 25.5 gb for the movie alone with 35 mb per second. Really doubt its either the german blu, or the old hd broadcast,screenshots look worlds better than both.
