Covers

But for an alternate version, here's a list of the films viewed, a horror film for each of the last 31 years
  • I Am Mother (2019)
  • A Quiet Place (2018)
  • The Shape of Water + Life (2017)
  • Train to Busan (2016)
  • Crimson Peak (2015)
  • What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
  • Warm Bodies (2013)
  • Byzantium (2012)
  • The Thing (2011)
  • The Crazies (2010)
  • Zombieland (2009)
  • Day of the Dead + Cloverfield (2008)
  • The Mist + 28 Weeks Later (2007)
  • The Host (2006)
  • The Descent (2005)
  • Dawn of the Dead (2004)
  • Gothika (2003)
  • Red Dragon (2002)
  • Hannibal + Ghosts of Mars (2001)
  • What Lies Beneath (2000)
  • The Blair Witch Project (1999)
  • The Faculty (1998)
  • Event Horizon (1997)
  • The Craft (1996)
  • The Addiction (1995)
  • Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994)
  • Fire in the Sky (1993)
  • Candyman (1992)
  • The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
  • Night of the Living Dead (1990)
  • Santa Sangre (1989)

Not a best of list, by any stretch, but I'd pick a year or film and watch it that night. I try not to repeat too many films in recurring years. So compared to the 2018 list, only one repeat, 'Event Horizon'.
It was an interesting way to do it, but it meant pre-1989 films were extras. I'll be sure to make up for that on next years list.

Friday the 13th Part 2.

Due to the various comments about the Vampire Circus t-shirt I wore for work yesterday it was inevitable I'd watch it when I got home

I've only watched about 10 horror's over the last month, but I made a special effort last night with a triple bill:

Dark August had a really good atmosphere and a terrific score. It was nice to see that it was filmed in Vermont, I had no idea prior to watching it. I have fond memories of visiting the area with a friend about 15 years ago.

After The Fearless Vampire Killers, I was in the mood to watch another vampire film, so I decided to give Martin a spin. I was going to hold off until the Second Sight release came out, but there's no sign of that anytime soon. Anyway, the Japanese BD isn't that bad. It's probably how it looked when it was first projected back in the 70s.

Well, I had a pretty solid October! I'm sad my watch schedule was thrown off by being out of town for a weekend, so I missed a couple of days, but I had a really good month overall.
