Default After Dark Fate, do you consider Cameron is a loser?

Given the lukewarm box-office for Terminator Dark Fate, as well as what happens in the controversial first five minutes of the movie, do you consider James Cameron a loser?

No.

In fact, I don't see why Cameron's to blame for the box office performance since he didn't completely write or direct the thing. Him endorsing the movie means little to me at this point. I understand he might have done some things in the editing room, but story issues still fall on the writers (of which there are many--maybe too many) and Tim Miller.

Even then, why should anybody involved be called a loser in the first place? Cameron, Miller, the actors, the writers all made a film--that's more of a win than anything I've done with my life.

For Cameron specifically, he could make a movie as bad as The Room, but I still wouldn't label him as a "loser" precisely because of his past successes, as a filmmaker, as a deep sea explorer, and a trucker. I respect him for the mix of blue collar, scientific, and artistic experiences.

I do see how people can call him a loser based on his ego and how he might treat other people, but the same could be said for loads of other directors, artists, and famous people.

EDIT:
Didn't realize Cameron had as much involvement with the story's opening.

It was his idea to kill of John. Thats why he's getting the blame. And he helped write the story.

Thanks, I didn't realize he had that much input in the story/writing.

Cameron told the LA Times that what happens to John Connor in the movie was his idea and his alone. I don't care much, but some people are saying it ruined the franchise for them

Terminator, Aliens and Judgment Day. He's definitely no loser, though his last good film was the oscars spanking Titanic.

As for The Terminator franchise, it ends at T3 for me. Salvation was alright, miles better than Genisys. And after seeing that, along with the Dark Fate trailer I don't even want to see it about it. These new Terminator films don't even come close to the 3rd / 4th films and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as T1 / T2.

I'll wait on Dark Fate till it's on Netflix or find a cheap copy in a charity shop.

He's certainly done. He had a great run in the 80s and 90s but what has he done since? One terrible overhyped movie. And yeah, it is beyond bizarre that he's responsible for the biggest **** you to the Terminator series and fans imaginable.
He's just old, he's lost his fire and sold out for a bit of cash. Time to toddle off into retirement.

He was a loser when he publically dropped his wife for a Titanic cast member.

Nah. The flopping of Dark Fate just means that not even James Cameron could resurrect a franchise that had been on the decline for that long.

We'll see. The last film he directed made $2.7 billion.
