Default Deconstructing Harry

Woody Allen’s highest rated film not in blu, would love to have this.

Deconstructing Harry is frickin' hilarious. One of Allen's funniest films, with numerous laugh out loud moments. Anyone that thinks his late '90's films weren't that great needs to see this. I agree it would be great to see this on Blu - the film desperately needs an upgrade.

The DVD is currently OOP & tough to find these days - I just looked it up, and it's currently going for $70 on Amazon. I think I'll pass

I thought it was interesting that Muriel Hemingway played his ex here; this seemed like an homage to her much younger character in the iconic Manhattan - which had come out around 20 years before.

The sequence when Harry is in the car with his straight-laced friend (Bob Balaban), the prostitute, and his son is so over the top as to be borderline ludicrous - i.e., the idea of these four people sharing a car to go anywhere strains the bounds of credulity, but that's what makes the sequence so incredibly funny.

The hilarious episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm (sometime in the 200X's) when Larry David picks up a prostitute (in a car also shared by his father) for the purposes of having enough people for the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane may have been inspired by that DH sequence to some extent....no proof of this, however.

Agree. DH is my favorite Woody Allen movie. I'd snap up a blu-ray copy in a New York minute!

I hope Twilight Time is working on this ... I would definitely purchase in a heartbeat or less.

All indications are that Twilight Time won't be working on anything new, at this point, unfortunately...what they have released is what they have.

Twilight Time is closing up shop in June. DH is a Warner Brothers title so I won't be surprised to see it released under Warner Archive. There is always Criterion - who has no Woody Allen films that I'm aware of as yet.
