Default Saber Rider And The Star Sherrifs / Sei jūshi Bisumaruku

There might be another thread about this one but i couldn't find it.
I was crazy about this series when i was a kid.
I' ve read it was a flop in USA back in the day,but fairly successful in some european countries.
Nostalgia pushed me to look for a blu ray release. Luckily there is a german release.
Can anybody here share any opinions about the quality of the german edition? 57 episodes on 4 discs seems a bit iffy...and it's not exactly cheap.
Thank you!

Can't report on the quality personally, but the complete series is only about 40 euros on Amazon.de, and one review complains it's still in 4:3 in the 16:9 format (wait, why is that a problem?), so it's got potential. Maybe see if you can order directly from that version of Amazon by registering? It's how I've used Amazon Japan and UK before.

I've just received my copy. I'm quite satisfied with the pq.
The ratio is 4:3 as it should be. The compression is not great and probably there wasn't much restoration work done on it but compared to other blu ray transfered anime series from the 80's it looks quite alright.
Now i just need Voltron on blu ,Goshogun and an english friendly release of Spaceship Sagittarius and my wanted childhood anime collection would be complete.

It is 1080p. Whether it's any detailed and sharper than the dvd version... i don't know. All i can day is the picture looks clearly crisper than the one of my Dragon Ball Z Kai blu's.
I think this is the best it will ever look. Some anti aliasing is visible .The main issue is the image is a bit wobbly sometimes,i don't think they applied any image stabilisation after the scan, but it doesn't bother me much.

It's no new transfer, it's an upscale of the SD Material.

It probably is but i don't think this series will receive a new scan anytime soon ...if ever.
