Default Choppy Pic When Panning?

Newbie here with a question. I have a Sony Blu Ray BDP-S350 along with a 52" Sony Bravia LCD tv model # KDL-52V4100.

The picture is very choppy whenever the scene pans either horizontally or vertically.

Is there something wrong here, or is it normal and something that I have to live with?

Thanks for any input.

24fps. Live with it, or live with the fakeness of Motion Interpolation.

It's normal, it always been there. Cinema camera are stuck in 24fps since the dawn of time. Unless it's a TRUE IMAX Movie (like their documentaries) witch are 60fps. The rest are 24.

60fps Camera are in the works, but Blu-ray doesn't support that in 1080p.

Some display have frame interpolation with simulate what film at 96/120 fps would look like, off course each CE have it's way of making it. Off course it's a simulation and not the real thing. I compare that to Remixed 5.1 Track from Stereo or Mono movies. Sometime it destroy the track, sometime it revive it..

Personnally i love the look on my AE3000 (96hz) it really add depth in pannings witch is totally not there in original 24hz....

I want to thank everyone for their response. I thought there might be a problem with my Blu Ray player, now I know it's something I have to live with.

Thanks.

Most IMAX films are shot at 24fps, including documentaries. A tiny few are in 48fps.

They used other frame rates for films before they added sound.
