Default Sony Owns Funimation Now. Should We Acquire Their Saved Licenses?

So I realize that a change in management or corporate restructure doesn't automatically mean that their old licences won't be renewed, but as a collector like myself, should I take that chance? I don't own the majority of Geneons/ADV's saved licenses that Funimation saved (Welcome to the NHK, Monte Cristo, Air, Kanon, etc) and I'm worried that once those licences start approaching their expiry - Funimation might not renew a majority of them. Detective Conan didn't get renewed, Xenosaga didn't get renewed, and many others.

Despite everyone's gripes regarding their green S.A.V.E. covers - should we start considering them lost licenses?

They'll renew the titles that they feel are worth the renewal, that being titles that can bring in money. Case Closed bombed for FUNimation (hence why they never pursued more, the movies supposedly did decent for them), and they gave up on it. If you want to focus on buying older titles, look at the titles they're most likely to lose because they're likely not bringing in much money anymore. Also sometimes they'll let the physical rights expire, but keep the streaming. Moeyo Ken TV went OOP over 6 years ago, but FUNimation has strangely held onto the streaming rights for what is a rather obscure and not well-received show.

This stuff applies to all the companies BTW. When a title is about to expire, they look and see how well it's doing, and if they feel it can continue to be profitable, they'll renew the rights, if not, they let them expire. Like it's pretty obvious at this point why Sentai recently let say Cluster Edge expire months ago. RightStuf has been selling both collections for $4 each for months, they're now $2 each as part of the Holiday Sale, and they're still not moving units.

This what I had presumed. I wanted to gauge other people's opinions regarding this matter since Funimation saved a bunch of titles from Geneon, ADV and others.

I guess it's time to put a notion of priority on Funimation's lesser known licenses and ones that are about to/already expired. Especially the ones where a Blu Ray re-release is even more unlikely. Funimation's green "S.A.V.E." cases don't really bother me, and I'd rather have them in my collection before they're OOP than choose not to have them because of the case. (Plus they're reversable for those of who don't keep their collection in factory sealed condition)
