Default Cinemax to no longer produce original shows

Quote:
Cinemax will no longer produce original content, nor will its existing shows like “Jett” and “Warrior” be part of HBO Max when it launches, WarnerMedia executives said Wednesday.

“I think you can expect there will not be any more Cinemax originals being produced going forward,” HBO Max boss Kevin Reilly said during the Television Critics Association press tour. Michael Quigley, executive vice president of content acquisitions for the streaming service, said that Cinemax original content will not be the on service either, though the channel is not going away the same way Audience Network will.

“We’re not planning to bring the Cinemax content into the service overall,” he said. “I think it still serves an important value for its customers in terms of its movie offerings.”

Showrunner Jonathan Tropper added on his Instagram that season 2 of Warrior will still shoot and air somewhere this year.

Ugh I thought Jett was great and I wanted more Gugino!
And I was planning to finally get around to watching Warrior cause I'm a huge fan of that type of genre and heard great things. I have a feeling I'm going to love it and feel bummed out if it ends at S02.

Gugino tweeted that they're shopping Jett to other places, so hopefully Netflix or Amazon will pick it up.

Darn. When I'm in the mood for gratuitous sex and nudity in original series, where will I go now? HBO? SHOWTIME? Starz?

Oh wait...

Stupid AT&T/WB WTF are they thinking Cinemax had great Action/Drama shows and now what just bunch of random same movies from HBO? I guess they forgot their biggest series The Knick and Banshee oh lets not forget Outcast how they purposely waited to kill of the contracts before premiering second season in the U.S.

So none of the originals will be on HBO Max and also Cinemax Go in the future? WTF are they smoking as for Audience Network that is exclusive only with AT&T U-Verse which many of us don't have and missing out Mr. Mercedes series I bet next is HBO shows get ready no more Golden Globe shows.

I think ATT wants to end Cinemax. It was removed from my Comcast package this year. I pay for premier package which would get all TMC, STARZ, HBO, SHO, MAX, etc. now Cinemax is no longer included on that package. Have to pay for it separately.

Same with Spectrum it seems likely they do want to kill which the network really is no different than HBO what they really show as for movies but the TV Series were mixed they even stopped late night adult Series or movies plus if you noticed current TV Shows Strike Back also has cut down on the soft porn type sex and they haven't updated their Cinemax Go apps for who knows how long either.

Not sure why they don't want to add Cinemax shows to HBO Max or have new shows like Cinemax sad really I loved Warriors, Strike Back series, Outcast and Banshee.

This isn't surprising. I had been interested in subscribing to HBO and Cinemax but that a majority of their line up consists of movies that can be purchased for five dollars on Blu-ray and seem to be more a retread of 90's era movies. I saw an example of their lineup when I was browsing through the xfinity channel lineup.
