Default Children of Men 4K UHD (2006)

I know a lot of people really want 'Gravity' on UHD. But if I could pick one of Alfonso Cuaron's films to be immediately released on this format, it would be 'Children of Men'.

Agreed! I’d also prefer this to Gravity.

I got really giddy seeing this as the latest post without realizing it's in the 'Wish List' section. It's one of my all time favorite films, it'd be a day one purchase for me, no question.

Yeah, I got my hopes up before seeing 'wish list' my own bad self.

I would happily take both Gravity and this, but if I had to chose, it would definitely be this.

Would love Gravity but given the choice. Children of Men.

The BR is already superb so any half decent improvement with a 4K release would be a bonus.

It’s also in my top 10 of all time. Stunning movie.

Subscribing to this thread so I can keep an eye out for any news.

According to the technical specs on IMDB, this movie was finished from a 4K digital intermediate. It absolutely deserves to be on a 4K disc.

I’d really love to see a tv series that picks up right after the film ends.

Be careful what you wish for. We might get a series on SyFy. Or worse...CBS.

*shudder*

Why do you feel the need to turn this into a pissing contest? There's more than enough room in the world for both this and Marvel.

Just read the book, which I didn't know existed until recently. In the book the events all take place in 2021, not 2027 as the movie depicts.

Very much want a 4K version.

taken from The digital Bits blog on 13th january 2022

In a bit of digital news, we’ve been tipped off that the streaming presentation of Children of Men (2006) on Movies Anywhere looks to be mastered from a fresh scan, so it’s possible that Universal has a new 4K Ultra HD version coming in the months ahead.

here's hoping!

Thanks! To add to that, GRUV has the bluray cheap, and I've noticed a lot of cheap blurays on GRUV are clearance, so it makes it a little more likely that a 4k edition is coming down the pipeline.

Agreed. Children of Men is a much better movie. It's an amazing movie. It's one of the most underrated movies of all time.
