Great that it's getting a UK release, but a missed opportunity that it's from an all expenses spared company with no concept of quality control. Even when they're given a good master they botch the encode.

Guess I'll have to wait until release and see which of the (currently three) releases to get.

I'm still hoping that the discs are being authored by CBS/Paramount as a 'one size' and that they'll just spout the relevant distributor logo when you pick the country at the start. Long shot I know, but I'll probably just get the US version anyway.

Mediumrare on their best day aren't even up to the standard of Shout on their worst. Their Sergeant Bilko DVDs look like internet downloads (they didn't even use the masters of the episodes Paramount previously remastered and released) and their Blus frequently have such low bitrates you'd get better results upscaling a DVD.

They literally bit for bit copy the shout releases they have put out (sadly)

Day one if they include the old extra features.

A new Naked Gun boxset would be great too.

Does anyone know if the US one is likely to be region locked?

If these are different encodes for each country then it may well be region locked in each instance so as to 'protect' those indies in those local markets. Not that people are going to be importing it in their thousands anyway, the disc buying market being what it is today, but these kinds of covenants are still insisted upon by many rights holders (yet they're happy to do a region-free UHD disc where applicable, go figure).

I tell you what though, the US price is already very low and if it dips below the magic £15 on wow (it's currently at £15.60) then I'm in like flynn.

One of my favourite jokes:

Capt. Ed Hocken:
Frank, I know you got Sally's arrest record from R & I [Records and Information] , but how did you ever figure out she was the one behind the loan office heist?

Det. Frank Drebin:
Just a little hunch back at the office.

Capt. Ed Hocken:
I thought so. Because I brought that little hunchback with me. Charlie, come out here!

[a short, 'hunchback' man walks in]

Det. Frank Drebin:
Charlie! Thanks for the tip.

Yeah even if it contains the tiny extras the DVD boxset had. Held off buying the blu-rays because it had less than the DVDs.

Lol so many great jokes.

Good to see the extra's are included (hopefully Amazon is correct) It would be pretty annoying if they weren't included.

I was the same, just kept my Naked Gun DVD set and didn't bother with the blu-ray's. They definitely deserve better than what was released.

Hopefully this will sell well enough and they will have another go at the movies.
