Default Blu Ray Double Dip

Are there any movies you double-dipped for on Blu-Ray/4K that you already own on the "lesser" formats?

As for me, I own each of the TCs of the Lord of the Rings trilogy individually on DVD, I bought each one on their day of release, yet I gladly ponied up for the Extended Collection on Blu-Ray. I'm thinking about doing the same for the Expendables Blu-Ray Collection even though I own the first one on DVD.

I mean there are numerous titles I've double-dipped for on BD alone not even counting earlier formats, so yes. If it's a movie I love I'll pay again for someone to do a better job with it.

Anyone with more than a couple hundred BDs and/or UHDs is going to tell you this happens regularly.

Yeah, it would take me a while to count how many times that has happened with my collection. Heck, just in the past 2-3 weeks alone I've double-dipped on Lucy, Inception, Interstellar, Sliding Doors, alone. And that's just off the top of my head.

I relatively new to 4K-land, though. It may look much different in say a year. Possibly.

Done a ton of dvd to blu, but only a couple blu to 4K, and those were due to botched blus (Predator and American Psycho). Also did Lord or War (dvd all the way to 4K since the blu missed the features and 4K brought all that mattered).

I do it all the time on Blu-ray alone. Many upgrades from Blu-ray to 4k too and still keep the old versions.

The movie I have the most versions of is Guardians of the Galaxy. Have 10 different copies.

Ha! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I've quintuple-dipped on so many movies that I can't even remember them all anymore.

Case in point: I'm about to buy what must be the sixth (?) version of Lucio Fulci's Zombie now that it's coming to 4K. Whatatagonna do?

Fled. I own the Laserdisc, the VHS, DVD and now Olive Blu-ray. I hope to one day own a 4K, but doubt MGM will let that see the light of day.

Hell, I'd be curious to find who HASN'T double dipped at some point. If you have been in this game long enough, double dipping is damn near a given.
