It was CDS in cinemas, the first descret digital sound format.
I swear blind the BD is that mix.

No, I was not kidding nor begging. I was just having a normal conversation and making a polite suggestion so he just doesn't need to futher crop the image and it will bring it closer to the original art.

My post was (sincerely) very flattering to Robert and his work, while yours is just rude and undeserving.

I wasn't demanding anything, and I'm sure Robet doesn't need you stepping up for him. If he's fine with the suggestions, great, I'd really appreciate it. If he's not, then so be it, I'm still greatful.

Even though I'm not an active coverartist nowadays, I have made some of the very first custom coverart to surface on the internet back in the early days of dvdcoverart.com, about some 20 years ago. I was the first to create faithful studio templates and share them freely on the site for everyone interested on pursuing such a hobbie. I say this not to brag, but to say that I know for a fact that since Robert has already gone the lengh to recreate the image and the titles, the tweaks I suggested should be a no brainner if he chooses to do so.

Yes indeed, it was one of the few movies to feature CDS mix in cinema, and I also believe the DVD and BD mixes are based on it, while the LD was just regular Stereo Surround in PCM.

For me, it's one of the few titles were the 5.1 on DVD was better than LD mix, further indicating that it was an original mix and not a remix.

So it should translate well into Atmos the original mix? Without to much tinkering required.

No, it will be a remix like all remixes sadly.
It is an amazing mix on its own.

If Paramount actually did a full throated, Dolby Atmos remix and not just a basic 7.1.2 upconvert like Saving Private Ryan, then they would have to go back to the original audio elements and stems to create an immersive mix.

That should mean a British release is in the bag. Really surprised this has happened. Hoping Sunset Boulevard gets a release later in the year.

I will be happy (and very surprised) to see that artwork. Had fears of some horrid floating heads/Photoshop mess. I always liked the artwork on this movie.

Damn man. I mean The Bridge On The River Kwai UHD does forever test me. But you can't give into temptations of desecration...even if the distributor technically has desecrated the film's original art.

I had no choice but to put the 4K disc into the older BD collector's box on that one. No choice.
