I know this isn't exactly what's been asked, as it's the main character of the movie and not background collateral damage, but I'd have to say that double run-over at the beginning of a romantic drama like Meet Joe Black was ridiculously unnecessarily violent.

Wasn't there some poor bicyclist who got it bad during the final action sequence of Sabotage with Schwarzenegger? I think he got hit by a car and rolled up on the hood, then the car slammed into the back of a flat-bed tow truck and basically turned the guy into hamburger meat. That was pretty wicked.
