I don't know how this relates to the rest of Tsai's filmography, but on its own it's a solid film and very reminding of Chantal Akerman, especially Je tu il elle (1974), with the structure of observing daily routine that's punctured with homoerotic intimacy, and the overall length of the shots. This feels more "photorealistic" and documentary-like. Subtitles are deliberately omitted, but there's almost no dialogues anyway.
Much like Tsai's The River, there's an emphasis on ailments and healing (there's a great acupuncture scene early on), but this film is more optimistic, even if it retains the melancholic cityscape mood. I'll also add that the opening shot is really memorable.

Yeah. I haven't seen any info about some kind of upcoming release. I'm hoping for a 4K UHD Blu-ray, but even a regular one will make me happy.

Grasshopper Films is advertising Virtual Cinema showings. So it looks like it’s having a US run right now. So they would probably release a Blu when they’re done with this run.

Blu-ray should be released today! I pre-ordered the limited slipcover edition in late November, so I guess it will probably take a couple of weeks before it arrives.

Poor product management.

Blu-ray has been available for pre-order since November, and was supposed to ship on 2/1. But on 2/4 they send an email saying it and the slipcover will ship separately. They've had 3 months to prepare for this release.

FYI, Days has been available on MUBI since January, which was 99¢/month for the first 3 months at the beginning of the year.

On top of that, my Days Blu-ray just arrived with a cracked case.

Edit: They're shipping me a replacement case.

I received my blu-ray today, thankfully it was not damaged. Not sure why they couldn't ship the slipcovers with it, and now I'm also afraid that slipcover is going to come in a real bad condition.
