Gotta give BU their due. They’re milking every single solitary cent out of these titles.

And since I’m a weak man, they’ll be getting my money too...

First Zombie, now this. Time to get my hopes up for a 4K of the Daughters of Darkness restoration!

Embarrassingly I’ve never seen this, but this might be a good time to watch it!

Love this movie so much. I bought the new BD day 1 and haven’t even watched it yet but I will still upgrade to this without hesitation, of course.

I’m all for this. I mean the source material is 16mm but the grain and a carefully applied HDR grade would really benefit the film I think.

Day one.

Obviously.

Just when everyone's called it (again) that physical media is dead. HD Blu-ray is the best we will ever get, (or DvD and Laserdisc 10 or so years back), UHD will never take off. In come the indies yet again, and fill the gap.

I wonder how much the image will improve in 4K considering the current new edition is grainy as f*** particularly the night time scene, which is inherent to the filmstock used

Yeah definitely will be getting Maniac and Zombie, on the other hand I'm not sure about House by the Cemetery or New York Ripper if BU decides to release those in 4k. I see a few people upset about this because they bought the 3 disc set or they think it's a money grab.

BUT i will happily get this and Zombie and I'm very glad they're diving straight into the deep end

I really hope The House by the Cemetery is next. As much as I hate to say it, I don’t think I’d upgrade Ripper - never been a fan of that one.

My ultimate dream is Night Train Murders - pleeeeeeease, BU, please!

Interesting they have so many language options. Guess they're counting on imports which is great as hardly any smaller labels do.

I finally saw it about a year ago and admittedly, I was a little underwhelmed. Still think it's ace that it's getting a UHD, though. The more grubby 80s exploitation flicks that wind up on the format, the better.

It's awesome that we're getting these old cult classics on 4K but having just bought the recent 4K remastered versions, i'm not going to pick these up any time soon.

Patrick: Do you like UHD Blu-ray?
Paul: Um, what the hell is UHD? Or a Blu-ray?
Patrick: At first I thought certain film's wouldn't benefit from the format. But when Easy Rider was released in December, I saw HDR gave the film a really big boost. Artistically, with more control over luminosity.

Some people have been bitter and cynical about 4K. That grain needs cleaned for film's to have a consummate sheen of professionalism for modern televisions.

They probably haven't watched the UHD of Terminator 2. But they should, because its not just about the dangers of conformity to trends of digital noise reduction. It's also a statement about the lack of care for authentic film presentation.

Hey Paul!

That's a highly unusual move for any indie release, UHD or otherwise. I reckon it's not just imports but that they may have distribution partners in those territories who'll be doing their own local release of this disc. Who knows, that may have actually paid for the 4K release in the first place.
