Default Name ONE thing that irks you in a certain movie

Possibly spoiler warning.

As much as I enjoy The Birdcage (1996) there's that one thing that always irks me. Why did they never order take out food from a first class restaurant when they have the future in-laws invited for dinner? I understand that for the sake of hilarity letting Agador cook a (rather poor) meal fits the tone of the stressful moment, but it really defies logic. How easy would it have been to have the food secretly delivered to a back door and then served as if it was homemade? Not saying that the chaotic scenes in the kitchen aren't funny, but they could have made it funny with the food delivered as well.

It's not really a movie flaw but it is something that always makes me sigh.

Joker in Suicide Squad (Straight up disliked).

Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds (Straight up disliked and disliked the way that character was written).

The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 (Disliked the way that character was written and misused).

Gemma Arterton in Prince of Persia (Straight up disliked). I would mention Alfred Molina for Prince of Persia as well, but IMO he is a LOT more tolerable than Gemma for that movie so he gets a pass.

Gemma Arterton in Clash of the Titans (Straight up disliked).

Helena Bonham Carter in Terminator Salvation (Straight up disliked).

Kate Capshaw in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Straight up disliked).

These are all characters moreso than story/plot. There are many films where I take issue with the story and plot but there's always more than just ONE, hence why I haven't listed any.

Not sure if this counts but it always bothered me that in Home Alone, Kevin makes a microwave Mac & Cheese meal and gets ready to eat it but immediately leaves it when Marv and Harry arrive. We never see the Mac & Cheese meal again and assume Kevin probably had to throw it away (it would had been cold after all that) when he cleaned up the house to get it ready for his parents’ return. I think about how Kevin missed his supper and how it’s kind of sad he never got to eat that nice meal he made for himself.

Recently it's the future flashback scene in Terminator Dark Fate where we see Dani as the leader.

Jessica Lange in King Kong (1976)

I mean everything irked me in that film, but she was the worst part of it.

A female Kenny if ever I saw one.

Jordan Peele not electing to play the Hands Across America song at the end of Us. It would have been such a symbolic gesture, and be full-circle with the start of the film. Huge missed opportunity that will probably bother me every time I watch the movie (
[Show spoiler]yes, I know many here hate this film, and will use this as an opportunity to trash it
)

The fight between Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in Revenge of the Sith. It always has bothered me that both of them use blue lightsabers. I think it would have been so much better if Anakin had a red one. I would have loved a scene where Palpatine gives him a new red lightsbaer. I mean we know Vader eventually gets a red lightsaber, they could have easily made him get it now (even if that retcons some other canon story or something). Seeing blue vs blue detracts from the fight for me a lot sadly.

If we're doing whole movies as one thing, then mine are:

Terminator: Dark Fate
Ghostbusters 2016
2019 Pet Sematary
2019 The Lion King
2019 Aladdin

To name a few off the top of my head.

The CGI Grand Moff Tarkin in Rogue One. Creepy and weird and completely unnecessary. Audiences would’ve accepted the actor just playing it as a normal flesh and blood performance. Use a bit of make-up if need be, but no more. And in the time saved, they could’ve made the CGI Leia more convincing.

Also in the same film, I wish Vader had been completely absent until his last scene.

Henry Thomas in E.T. with his little beady, deepset eyes, punchable face, and the awkward scenes in his underpants.

The walking definition of justifiable child homicide and the reason I find the movie to be extremely hard to watch.

When Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid stops dead in it's tracks to give us the Raindrops Falling On My Head sequence. Takes me right out of the movie.

The recasting of April O'Neil for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II. The original actress was great. Did they think kids wouldn't notice?

She was pissed that the first was cut down in post and refused. The 1990 TMNT originally had loads more depth.
