Universal Studios Home Entertainment will be releasing Empire on April 7, 2020 through the MOD program.

It took Victor Rosa a lifetime to build his criminal empire and one moment to risk it all. John Leguizamo stars in an unforgettable performance as Victor, a brilliant drug lord from the Bronx who dreams of turning his ill-gotten fortune into a better life for himself and his girlfriend Carmen (Delilah Cotto) in Empire. When a charming investment banker (Peter Sarsgaard) promises to turn Victor's drug money into legitimate wealth, Victor soon learns that the world's most vicious gangsters are the ones wearing suits and ties. Denise Richards and Isabella Rossellini also star in this action-packed crime drama about greed, vengeance, and the true meaning of power.

I kid you not, I was just thinking about this film earlier today and how it never got a Blu-ray release. Crazy! I'll definitely be importing this one. John Leguizamo was very good in this.

Good news - Empire is an amazing flick; very gritty & disturbing.

Glad this is finally hitting Blu. Saw this theatrically back in '02, as well as on DVD.

Love this film. It always seemed like a nice spin-off of John Leguizamo's character from Carlito's Way even though it has no connection at all.....

Missed this post. If I can get it for a decent price I'm in. This was one of those movies I got for cheap on DVD back in the day and was surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Cheapest I've seen it is for about $30 Cdn from WowHD. It should go down in price to around that $23 price point within the next couple of months. But wow, these MOD discs from Universal (and Sony too) are just way overpriced.

I hear ya. I think the only one I've bought is the Skulls. Cost me about $27 but I really wanted it. All of these releases should be in the $15 range. I'd buy a lot more if they were.

This is $19.99 at Bullmoose. I got my copy yesterday and watched the first hour last night. Looks decent, but not exceptional. Still, it's nice to have this on Blu-ray finally.

Never. The Universal MOD releases are usually the cheapest during the preorder period; ignore Amazon as they tend to put everything up for MSRP when it first goes up.
