Where is Chicken Run ? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi friends,
Its amazing we see all these movies on Blu ray but where the heck is Chicken Run ? Didn't they consider it for releasing on Blu ray ? I am really looking forward to it, any news about its release ?

If you want, you have the french version, noted ABC on the back cover

Does the french version have forced French sub titles like Bridget Jones/Love Actually?

My copy turned up today. BD25, VC-1 encode, has DTS HD MA 5.1 English track an no forced French subs. The back states its region ABC compatible, and AnyDVD also said it was region free.

I wouldn't call it weird. Dreamworks Animation & Aardman parted ways and DWA has placed a higher priority on getting their own properties out on BD. Dreamworks' CG-animated films are easier to prep for Blu-ray because there's no pesky film involved, and the Aardman/Dreamworks co-productions (including the CG Flushed Away) are the lowest-grossing titles in Dreamworks' stable (except for the traditionally-animated features).

I'd buy it, but I'm not holding my breath.

I saw a trailer at the theater last weekend for a new Aardman animated feature called "Pirates: Band of Misfits". The trailer said something like "from the director of Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, etc".

I bet there's a Chicken Run BD around the time Pirates gets to BD too.

Well, if you want Wallace and Gromit, I recommend the Japanese Ghibli Library edition, cause the American edition had English LPCM 5.1 and 2.0 and DD 5.1, the Japanese edition had English and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and LPCM 2.0, don't worry, it has all the extras in English with Japanese subtitles, it has all the extras of the UK edition + a visit of Nick Park going to Hayao Miyazaki's beloved animation studio, buy it from disney-studio.jp/ghibli or cdjapan to get a box where you can store the A Matter Of Loaf & Death Blu-ray which has the same specs as the 3 Cracking Adventures, which does not have AMOLAD.

Ordered the German version. It has a DTS Master 6.1 track which is probably based off of the US dvd since it had DTS ES 6.1. Can't wait for it to come. It's the movie that made the Academy create the Best Animated Film category. That in itself says a lot for it. Surprised it hasn't been released here yet either. Waiting for What Lies Beneath and the remake of The Haunting. WLB is a great thriller, and The Haunting is just a fun popcorn movie. The dvd had a strong sound mix! Should sound great in lossless!

Who owns the Dreamworks catalog now? I know Dreamworks was bought by Paramount, then Paramount sold their own catalog to Warner Brothers, so technology Warner Brothers?

I rented it once, and was rather underwhelmed.
The PQ didn't shine at all. Pretty average 3-3.5/5 from what I remember.

A nice release of this and the Wallace and Gromit feature film would be terrific, sometime this lifetime, if possible.

They just announced that they’re working on a chicken run sequel so hopefully they’ll release a bluray of the original around the same time.

I love chicken run. Clever movie. Bit scared for a follow up. But who knows, it might be great. I own the german blu ray.
But would not mind a new improved version.
