Face/Off from the UK instead! - Blu-ray Forum

I've cancelled my pre order for Paramount's Face/Off and ordered the Buena Vista release in the UK...

More convenient I guess seeing as i live in the UK HaHa!!

I just hope that those new special features will be on it, that were on the Paramount version, and the transfer is good enough! I'l settle for the great transfer though!

That will probably be a better PQ/AQ release anyway. BVHE rocks.

1. as you can see amazon.co.uk has TWO blurays for face off listed which is the first confusing thing, i needed help understanding.

2. The first one says its a buena vista title and appears to be region free..so would that work in US Bluray players?

you want the one that has no picture, the one priced £20.24.

the other one is the paramount copy that has now been cancelled.

You should know though that you can get it cheaper at play.com and sendit.com!

£17.99 and £17.89 respectively. Ive ordered from sendit.com!!

Most region B titles (excluding Fox) are region free. Well actually region ABC. Sony's argument for region encoding is it's possible for a disc to be released in the US before it's in the cinema in other countries, Australia is frequently 6-9 months behind. As we are last there is therefore no need to region encode.

so the region 2 version of face off will play in my sony ps3? its the us version. I am not sure about regions coding on Blu-rays yet. I understand how it works on dvds

no a region B Blu-ray disc will NOT play in the US playstation 3. In otherwords you have to get the first title listed from amazon.co.uk in order for it to play here in the US.

The Blu-ray Disc movie region codes are different from the DVD region codes.[9] The following are the region codes for Blu-ray discs:[10]

Regions for Blu-ray standard[11]Region code Area
A America, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
B Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
C India, Nepal, Mainland China, Pakistan, Russia, Central and South Asia.

Everybody....buy the Buena Vista version!!!! I already have it!!!! It's region free, has PCM, and an AVC transfer.

No special features though.

Transformers (2007), face/off, The Rock, die hard 4.0 and Bourne Ultimatum are probably my 5 all-time favorite movies.

I cant wait till i recive The Rock to watch that sucker. I am trying to find face/off UK import for a good price right now and hoping Transformers comes out in Korea on Bluray so that i can import it.

For now, I cant wait for the Rock! How is the picture quality of the transfer?

It worth a 9.9/10, 0.1 is for the tiny isty bit of haloing in the couple of spot.. but this transfert is pure detail. If you saw The Patriot , it's the same kind of superbly focused and highly detailed picture..

i live in the US and added Face/Off, Con-Air, and The Rock from amazon.uk it came out to 64.74 EUR and using an online converter it came to about 88.24 US Dollars. thats with seperate shipping since Face/Off is on preorder but consdier coming from the UK using airmail, 3 movies at 88. i know i really want face off and figure maybe just dig deep into my pocket and get the other 2 right away. would you do it?

Just picked up these movies from Amazon UK, I believe they are all region free according to DVDSpot and a couple other lists on Amazon, could someone who might have them already confirm that?

I wish they would have put out the release of all there announced movies and then stopped producing that would have done right by the consumers
