I got done watching all 6 episodes. A bit of coming of age for the principle character and peers. This is a young persons adventures novel where Tiuri, a teenage squire, answers a call for help that sends him on a perilous mission across the three kingdoms to deliver a secret letter to the King.
This deviates a bit from the book from Dutch writer Tonke Dragt, first published in 1962. The next book if it is converted to film would be the The Secrets of the Wild Wood (1965) which concerns "One of the King's most trusted knights has vanished in the snow, so young Sir Tiuri and his best friend Piak must journey into the shadowy heart of the forest to find him. The Wild Wood is a place of mysteries, rumours and whispered tales. A place of lost cities, ancient curses, robbers, princesses and Men in Green." So these comparisons to game of thrones in the long run would be very inaccurate, its a series of young peoples novels that concerns the adventures of the young knight. Its was certainly worth streaming, just don't expect it as a LOTR or GoT clone, it is not. ![]() |
